Description:
|
The transgenic Bt cotton GK12 was developed through Agrobacterium tumefaciens-mediated transformation in the cotton cultivar Simian3.
It contains an artificially synthetized Cry1A(b+c) gene (CS-cry1Ab_Ac-BACTU) that confers resistance to lepidopteran insects.
It is reported that the GK12 variety was used in extensive field trials, but also was found in local cotton fields that were not supposed to be Bt-cotton.
